Zoh Amba follows “Another Time” with “Eyes Full,” a twang-heavy title track that pushes further into countrified indie rock ahead of the Asheville-recorded album out 6/5 on Matador.

Zoh Amba built their reputation as a saxophonist in New York’s avant-jazz circuit, but the new era unfolding around Eyes Full points somewhere else entirely. The Tennessee-born artist is leaning into a rough-edged, countrified strain of indie rock on the upcoming full-length, recorded in Asheville with Kevin Hyland on electric guitar and underground mainstay Jim White on drums.
The title track, “Eyes Full,” arrives as the latest preview after lead single “Another Time,” and it doubles down on the direction. Amba’s voice carries a high, towering twang that cuts through the mix, while the guitars knot and scrape around each other with the kind of friction that recalls prime Sonic Youth without feeling like imitation. It’s restless, loud in the right places, and confident about where Amba is headed next.
The song lands with a new visual directed by Grace Bader Conrad, continuing the album rollout with a clear sense of mood and momentum.
Eyes Full is out 6/5 via Matador.
