Lady Gaga’s ‘MAYHEM Requiem’ Concert Film Is Coming to Apple Music and AMC Theaters

Lady Gaga’s MAYHEM Requiem concert film premieres May 14 on Apple Music and screens the same day in 15 AMC theaters.

Lady Gaga is officially closing the book on her Mayhem era with a new concert film built around reworked versions of songs from her Grammy-winning album.

Apple Music Live: Lady Gaga MAYHEM Requiem will premiere on Apple Music on Thursday, May 14, at 8 p.m. PT. The film will be available to stream on Apple Music without a subscription for the premiere, while the full performance and spatial audio live album will then be available on-demand for Apple Music subscribers.

At the same time, the film will screen in 15 AMC theaters across the United States, syncing up with the streamer premiere. It gives fans a rare chance to experience the project both at home and in a theater setting on the same night.

Filmed on Jan. 14 at Los Angeles’ 1,850-capacity Wiltern Theatre, Lady Gaga MAYHEM Requiem captures Gaga in a striking stage concept that reduced the opera house she created for the Mayhem Ball tour to rubble. In the show, she performed as a Phantom of the Opera-type figure, revisiting songs including “Abracadabra,” “Disease,” “Die With a Smile,” and the rest of the album in reinterpreted form. Morningview produced the film.

The release follows the final Mayhem Ball shows in New York in April, which brought an end to a yearlong run that stretched across five continents. As Billboard reported that month, Gaga grossed $419.5 million and sold just under two million tickets, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. That made the tour the highest-grossing of her career and one of the 10 highest-grossing pop tours ever.
