Gracie Abrams announces new album Daughter From Hell, shares ethereal lead single Hit the Wall

Gracie Abrams has announced Daughter From Hell, due July 17, and will release lead single Hit the Wall this Thursday.

Gracie Abrams is back with a new album announcement and a first taste of what’s coming next. Her third record, Daughter From Hell, arrives July 17 via Interscope, following 2024’s sophomore album The Secret Of Us. Pre-orders are already live Visit here.

The album was written and produced with Abrams’ longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner of The National, and the first single, Hit The Wall, is set to arrive this Thursday, May 14. Abrams first hinted at the song earlier this month on social media, posting a silhouette against flames and saying she “loves” it “with everything I have.”

She gave the track another push on the red carpet at last week’s 2026 Met Gala, telling Vogue: “It’s the introduction to this new chapter, and I feel grateful and relieved that this is the introduction. I love the song so much and I love the people I made it with. It feels embodied and that feels good. I’m excited for it to belong to everyone else.”

On Instagram, Dessner sounded just as animated about the project, writing that he was “So so so so so beyond excited” to announce the album and noting that it had been six years since they first began working together. “I’m deeply grateful for every song we have made and the way we have kept challenging ourselves and growing together as collaborators and friends, sometimes hitting the wall, and then pushing and breaking through,” he said.

He added that work on Daughter From Hell began two years ago, with many of the songs taking shape around the same period as Abrams’ hits That’s So True and I Told You Things. Dessner also said listeners should expect the pair to widen their sound. “You’ll hear us expanding our musical vocabulary and pushing into uncharted waters sonically, and most of all the sharpening and deepening of Gracie’s lyricism and expression in ways that continue to astound me,” he wrote.

“I believe this album contains absolutely the most moving and powerful work we have done together – it feels elevated in every way – and I can’t WAIT until you all get to hear it. We will share more details soon on all the dear friends who helped us along the way.”

Abrams’ last year kept her moving well beyond her own album cycle. She appeared on Mumford & Sons’ new record Prizefighter alongside Hozier and Chris Stapleton, contributing to the track Badlands. Before that, the band had already covered her I Love You, I’m Sorry, from The Secret Of Us, during a Live Lounge session.

More recently, Abrams drew attention for criticizing Donald Trump’s “poisonous and vile narcissism” after his comments following the death of filmmaker Rob Reiner. It has also been confirmed that she will make her acting debut in an upcoming A24 film directed by Halina Reijn.
