Fat Dog Share the Bouncy, Festival-Ready Single “Go Fuck Urself”

Fat Dog have returned with a song that sounds almost mischievous in its title-to-music contrast. “Go Fuck Urself,” the UK dance-punk band’s new single, is not some snarling shutdown or scorched-earth outburst. Instead, it comes across as a bright, bouncy synthpop rush with a giant chorus built for mass singalongs. In other words: it feels like the sort of track that could land hardest in front of a field full of people, which may be the point. There’s something disarmingly friendly about it, and that might be the sharpest insult of all.

It’s the first new Fat Dog single since the release of their debut album WOOF. in 2024, following a run of one-off releases that included “Peace Song” and “Pray To That.” In the meantime, there have also been side-project detours from ELLiS·D and Morgan Noise, but the main band are clearly back in focus now. With a packed stretch of UK and European dates ahead, including support slots for Foo Fighters and Kneecap, a new single feels less like a bonus and more like the right piece of timing.

The track was co-produced by frontman Joe Love and Oli Bayston, whose credits include work with Olivia Dean and Rachel Chinouriri. The video, meanwhile, comes from Nine Screens, the directing duo of Dylan Coates and Travis Barton, and it leans into the band’s sense of spectacle. Love shows up in a cowboy hat and leather vest, the group and a troupe of cheerleaders are staged inside a wrestling ring, and various pop-star stand-ins watch on with visible disapproval. It’s playful, theatrical, and just bratty enough to match the song’s title.
