Bad Bunny arrived at the 2026 Met Gala in full senior-citizen character, complete with white hair, wrinkle makeup, and a cane, then joked the look took “53 years exactly” to create.

Bad Bunny has made a habit of treating the Met Gala like a performance, and this year he showed up in full character. On Monday night (May 4), the Puerto Rican star arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art looking decades older, complete with white hair, wrinkle makeup, and a cane.
He wore an all-black tailored suit finished with an oversized, flowing bow, but the styling was only half the bit. Benito committed physically, too, moving with a measured gait and posture that sold the illusion before he even spoke to press.
Asked on Vogue’s red carpet livestream how he keeps topping himself at the event, he kept it simple: “It’s getting a part of my life, trying to do something different. This day of the Met is a perfect day to explore and be creative and express yourself in a different way.”
Then came the line of the night. When La La Anthony asked how long the look took, Bad Bunny deadpanned: “53 years exactly. It took a little bit but it’s worth it. I hope I look good.”
The commitment tracks with where he is right now creatively. Beyond music, he’s been expanding his acting résumé after turns in Bullet Train and Happy Gilmore 2, and he’s set to appear in a Puerto Rico-focused film directed by Residente.
He wasn’t the only musician drawing attention at the 2026 gala, which celebrated the “Costume Art” exhibit under the theme “Fashion Is Art.” The carpet also featured Madonna, Beyoncé, Charli xcx, Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Smith, Maluma, and all four members of BLACKPINK: JISOO, JENNIE, LISA, and ROSÉ.
At an event built on spectacle, Bad Bunny still found a way to make people look twice.
