Artificial Go have officially signed to Carpark Records and dropped a new single, “Triple Ones,” which arrives on the heels of last years sophomore LP Musical Chairs. The track lands today as the A-side of a 7″ that will ship next month, backed by “Jane Ate The Apple Seed.”
Its a scrappy, catchy rocker that leans into a kind of sun-bleached melancholythink the Velvet Underground soundtracking a beach party. Theres bite in the guitar, a bluntness in the delivery, and the sort of short-song immediacy that has fans leaning in instead of leaning back.
“Triple Ones” is a play on words from an underpaid check. My ex-boss sent out an incorrect paycheck as the angel number “$111,” attempting to come across as spiritual when underpaying me.
The song is about the times that life throws out experiences that force you to stand up for yourself and question those around you.
