Dolly Parton has canceled her Las Vegas residency, saying she is improving with treatment but not yet ready for stage performance. The singer shared that her conditions are treatable and thanked fans for their support.

Dolly Parton has officially canceled her Las Vegas residency and offered fans a direct update on her health, saying: “Everything I have is treatable.”
The country legend had previously postponed her run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace last October, citing a series of health issues that prevented her from finishing rehearsals. The shows were first planned for December 2025 before being rescheduled to this December.
In an Instagram video posted on May 4, Parton said she had “some good news and a little bad news.” The good news, she explained, is that she is responding well to treatment.
“I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day,” she said. “Now, the bad news is it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level, because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit ‘swimmy-headed,’ as my grandma used to say.”
She also apologized to ticket holders and said she hopes to reconnect with audiences soon.
“I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas. I’ll see you somewhere down the line… I have great doctors and I’m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I’m going with that.”
Parton was also candid about the medical issues behind the cancellation, pointing to recurring kidney stone problems and broader immune and digestive complications over the past few years.
“I’ve told you before that I’ve always had problems with my kidney stones. Lord, they dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee. But seriously, my immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past [couple of] years, and they’re working real hard on rebuilding and strengthening those, and hopefully I’ll be up to snuff again soon.”
Concern around her health intensified after the initial postponement, when her sister Freida asked fans on social media to pray for Dolly. In a follow-up, Freida clarified that she had not intended to cause alarm.
Parton then addressed the speculation herself in a video from the set of a Grand Ole Opry commercial, saying: “I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here.”
She made her first public appearance in months in March, delivering a keynote at Dollywood. There, she acknowledged that grief had taken a toll following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, last March. The two had been married for 58 years.
“I just kind of got worn down and worn out, grieving over Carl and a lot of other little things going on,” she said. “I just got myself kind of where I needed to build myself back up spiritually, emotionally, and physically. But, all is good. It didn’t slow me down.”
