Tove Lo Announces Sixth Album Estrus and Shares “I’m Your Girl Right?”

Tove Lo has a new era lined up for September. The Swedish pop star has announced Estrus, her sixth studio album, due out 9/18 via Pretty Swede, and she’s already set the tone with a first taste: the new single “I’m Your Girl Right?”

The release follows last year’s Heat, her collaborative EP with SG Lewis, but Estrus marks a return to a full-length Tove Lo project. “I’m Your Girl Right?” doesn’t exactly ease you in, either. It’s a trance-leaning burst of dance-pop built on a restless four-on-the-floor pulse, sharp, buzzing synths, and a distant siren-like wail that hangs over the whole thing. When Lo sings, “Promise you’ll never leave me/ Don’t let me down,” the song’s anxiety is already fully exposed, even before the disco-flavored keys arrive.

The visual for “I’m Your Girl Right” was directed by Nogari and filmed in a former monastery outside São Paulo, with 70 dancers on set. It’s a suitably full-scale introduction for an album that, at least from this first single, seems intent on turning uncertainty into motion.

Alongside the new track, Lo has also shared the album’s tracklist and a run of upcoming tour dates.
