The Rolling Stones unveil Foreign Tongues tracklist in a mix of actual foreign languages

The Rolling Stones have revealed the Foreign Tongues tracklist, with song titles translated into foreign languages ahead of the July 10 release.

The Rolling Stones have finally laid out the tracklist for Foreign Tongues, and they have done it with a twist: the song titles are presented in a spread of foreign languages. The band’s 25th studio album arrives on July 10 via Polydor/Universal Music, with guest spots from Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, Steve Winwood and the group’s late drummer Charlie Watts. The album had already been introduced by lead single In The Stars, backed by the raw, bluesy Rough And Twisted. Now the full 14-song set is out in the open, and the titles have been translated into a mix of actual foreign tongues, which gives the rollout its own slightly playful edge.

As previously revealed, the record also includes a cover of Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good, here rendered in Polish as Wiesz, ze jestem do niczego.

The full Foreign Tongues tracklist is:

Rough And Twisted

In The Stars

Jealous Love (Amante Jalouse in French)

Mr. Charm (ミスター・チャーム in Japanese)

Divine Intervention (Intervencao Divina in Portuguese)

Ringing Hollow (Rinkelende Holte in Dutch)

Never Wanna Lose You (No quiero perderte nunca in Spanish)

Hit Me In The Head (Calpiscimi in testa in Italian)

You Know I’m No Good (Wiesz, ze jestem do niczego in Polish)

Some Of Us (Nagra av oss in Swedish)

Covered In You (Daekket i dig in Danish)

Side Effects (Bivirkninger in Norwegian)

Back In Your Life (Kembali ke dalam hidupmu in Indonesian)

Beautiful Delilah (Magandang Delilah in Filipino)

At a New York media event last week, the band also explained how Robert Smith ended up on the record. “He was standing there with his back to me and this long gown on and when he turned around, he was covered in lipstick,” Jagger said. “And I said, I never met him before, ‘You’re Robert Smith of The Cure’. And he said, ‘Yeah, we’ve never met’. And I said, ‘While you’re here, you better go and do something’. That’s how collaborations work sometimes,” he smiled.

Back In Your Life is a Ronnie Wood song written as a tribute to Brian Wilson, composed in the days after the Beach Boys leader’s death last year. That detail gives the track a particular weight within a record that has otherwise been framed, at least publicly, by the speed of its making.

The album was put together in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in West London, with production from Andrew Watt, who also worked with the band on 2024’s Hackney Diamonds. Jagger said, “I love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis. It was a very intense few weeks recording ‘Foreign Tongues’. We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”

Keith Richards said the new album carries a sense of “continuity from Hackney Diamonds” and holds onto “that London vibe” the last record had. Wood, meanwhile, said “the atmosphere in the room was so creative, and the whole band was on top form throughout the whole process”.

A full tour does not seem to be on the cards anytime soon. In late 2025, the group confirmed they had scrapped plans for a UK and European stadium tour in 2026 because Richards was unable to “commit” to it.

The Stones did, however, hit the road for their North American Hackney Diamonds tour in 2024, a run that landed at Number Six on the list of the highest-grossing music world tours of that year. Their last UK shows came in 2022, when two massive BST Hyde Park dates in London followed a stadium concert in Liverpool.
