Show Me The Body announce Alone Together, produced by Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume, and share the new single “No God.”

Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume are already starting to look like an unlikely but very workable production combo. Åhlund, best known for his work with Robyn on the Body Talk trilogy and this year’s Sexistential, and Blume, the beatmaker making moves beyond rap through projects like Geese’s Getting Killed, recently helped shape Show Me The Body’s “Dance In The USA.” Now they’re officially part of the story behind the New York punk band’s next album.
Today, Show Me The Body announced Alone Together, a new full-length produced by Åhlund and Blume and due out in July. Along with the announcement comes “No God,” another sharp, abrasive new cut from the band, and it lands with the kind of momentum that makes the record title feel a little less ironic than it first sounds.
The band says the album was made with a clear idea in mind: lean into what makes Show Me The Body unmistakably themselves. Frontman Julian Cashwan Pratt remembers Åhlund putting it in blunt terms.
“[Åhlund] was like, ‘Those parts only your band could do? You should just do that all the time. All the parts that sound like everybody else, you should do less.’”
That instinct comes through on “No God,” which folds hypnotic, percussive electric guitars around Pratt’s shout-rap delivery as he obsesses over control, or the lack of it. “I will wait for no god to make it real… I need to make it real!” he declares, sounding less like he’s asking a question than issuing a challenge.
The video, directed by Alex Huggins, stars the notorious masked street racer License. It’s a fitting piece of visual chaos for a band that has always made tension feel like part of the design.
The album’s tracklist runs through 13 entries, opening with “Overture” and ending with “Alone Together,” with stops along the way for “Eat For Peace,” “Good Time,” “Dance In The USA,” “Do What’s Right (Happy),” “See You Again,” “Mileage,” “New Line,” “Trust,” and “Finale.”
Alone Together is out 7/10 via Loma Vista.
