aespa Tap G-DRAGON for New Single “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” Ahead of LEMONADE

aespa are kicking off a fresh chapter with “WDA (Whole Different Animal),” the first track lifted from their upcoming second studio album LEMONADE. The Seoul-based group dropped the single on Monday, May 11, and brought along a heavyweight guest in G-DRAGON, the BIGBANG leader whose presence instantly sharpens the stakes.

Built on bass and synth-heavy production with clear hip-hop influence, the song moves between English and Korean as aespa settle into a more defiant register. G-DRAGON takes over the third verse with his rap, and the track closes by circling back to the refrain: “She a whole different animal” and “Give me all smoke, gun powder, powder.”

It arrives with a music video that pushes aespa’s ongoing fascination with fractured reality even further. The clip drops the four members into a blurred digital world where replicas of themselves keep multiplying, turning identity into something unstable and hard to pin down. In the end, the group cuts through the noise and claims its own image back.

That release follows a busy stretch for aespa, who were named Group of the Year at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music awards. The group first announced LEMONADE in April, setting up the album as the follow-up to their 2024 Billboard 200 No. 8 EP Whiplash. The new record is due on May 29, and it’ll lead straight into aespa’s fourth world tour, SYNK: COMPLæXITY.

The tour begins August 7 with two nights in Seoul, then moves through more dates in Asia before heading to North America and closing out in Europe. It follows soon after the group wraps its SYNK : aeXIS LINE tour last month, keeping the momentum very much alive.
