EJAE, Hayley Kiyoko, Bowen Yang and More Gather for Gold House’s 2026 Gold Gala in Los Angeles
Gold House's 2026 Gold Gala returned to Los Angeles with honors for Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Charles Melton, Eileen Gu, Simu Liu and Jet Li.
The Gold Gala was back in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 9, for its fifth edition, and downtown L.A.’s The Music Center once again filled with the kind of cross-industry crowd that has made the event a fixture on the city calendar.
Gold House used the night to honor Asian Pacific and multicultural changemakers, with celebrities, artists, and leaders turning out for the 2026 Gold100 List celebration. Among those in attendance were EJAE, Bowen Yang, Hayley Kiyoko, H.E.R., GIRLSET, Halsey, Simu Liu, Charles Melton, Eileen Gu, Jet Li, Chloé Zhao, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas received the first-ever Global Vanguard honor. Charles Melton, fresh off Beef season two, was given the Gold Artistic Achievement honor, while Olympic freestyle skier Eileen Gu accepted the Gold Impact award. Simu Liu, who appears in Avengers: Doomsday, took home the Gold Mogul award, and martial arts icon, actor, and philanthropist Jet Li was recognized with the Gold Legend award.
The performances gave the evening its own pulse. Hayley Kiyoko performed “Girls Like Girls” with ARKAI and Lindsey Stirling, arriving ahead of the release of her directorial debut. H.E.R. also shared an exclusive first look at Forgotten Island alongside actress Liza Soberano.
And the night didn’t end there. The Gold Gala rolled straight into the Billboard x Gold House Founders Party, where RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Nymphia Wind and Plastique Tiara performed, and Mortal Kombat II star Joe Taslim handled a DJ set.
The afterparty also leaned into a little playful chaos with a Maybelline New York-sponsored karaoke room. There, KPop Demon Hunters filmmaker Maggie Kang joined actors Ross Butler and Saagar Shaikh for a run at Linkin Park’s “In the End.”
Earlier, Billboard caught up with several attendees about their favorite cultural foods. Hayley Kiyoko pointed to sukiyaki, the Japanese hot pot dish. H.E.R. shouted out halo-halo, the Filipino dessert. Priyanka Chopra Jonas recommended Indian chutney, while Pentatonix’s Scott Hoying and husband Mark Hoying named traditional Filipino rice cake.
Billboard caught up with them ahead of the gala, adding a small but telling layer to an event built around recognition, identity, and the cultural references people bring with them.
