Manon to Appear on Germany’s Next Topmodel While on Hiatus from KATSEYE

Manon, currently on hiatus from KATSEYE, will cameo on Germany's Next Topmodel as the group promotes the Wild EP and single "Pinky Up".

Manon Bannerman — currently on hiatus from girl group KATSEYE — will make a cameo on Germany’s Next Topmodel, Billboard has confirmed, a move that has fans buzzing while the group presses forward with its Wild campaign.

The cameo first surfaced in a short clip that began circulating on Thursday, May 7, on X. The teaser appears to show Manon striding onto the set and taking the catwalk as host Heidi Klum greets her — the kind of celebrity pop-in the German series has become known for.

Germany’s Next Topmodel, much like the original America’s Next Top Model that inspired it, regularly folds musicians and public figures into episodes as guest judges or surprise cameos. The episode featuring Manon is expected to air Thursday, May 14.

All of this comes while KATSEYE is still actively promoting Wild, but functioning as a five-piece. In February the group announced that “after open and thoughtful conversations together … Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and well-being.” The pause hasn’t stopped the band from moving forward.

Lead single “Pinky Up” arrived without Manon in its eclectic music video and later debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. KATSEYE’s five-track Wild EP is slated for release on Aug. 14, and the remaining members — Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia and Yoonchae — made their Coachella debut across both weekends in April.

There’s been an obvious effort from the group to publicly hold space for Manon. Ahead of Coachella, the four performing members spoke about her in an April interview on Apple Music 1 with Zane Lowe. “Manon has been on hiatus, and we love her so much, and we know that she’s doing well,” Sophia said. “We’ve gone through so much with each other.”

“I think we also want to say she’s our sister forever,” Lara added. “We love her so much, and we built this together. So we just want to give her all the space and love she needs right now.”

For fans, Manon’s Topmodel appearance will be both a spectacle and a reminder: she remains part of the group’s story even as KATSEYE navigates a period of reshaped visibility and releases. Whether the cameo is a light-hearted TV moment or a quieter signal that she’s staying in the public eye, it arrives at a charged moment for the band and their audience.
