COUCOU CHLOE returns with “Candyland”

After opening the year with “Venom”, London-based producer COUCOU CHLOE has returned with “Candyland” — a hype-heavy, woozy nightmare that pushes her sound into uglier, more thrilling territory.

The single‘s video is as unnerving as the music. Clown masks, blurred faces and strobe lighting give it the feel of a homemade slasher film rather than a club promo: lo-fi menace stitched together to unnerve and seduce in equal measure.

Self-produced and sonically unhinged, “Candyland” leans hard into distortion. Splintered samples and unpredictable drums collide as vocals warp between sleek and malevolent, refusing to settle into any comforting groove.

What starts as disorienting becomes strangely calming — a kind of Stockholm syndrome set to sound design — and another clear signal that COUCOU CHLOE is interested in discomfort as a form of allure.
