Cola Share Final Cost Of Living Adjustment Preview With “Haveluck Country”

Cola have released “Haveluck Country,” the final single before Cost Of Living Adjustment arrives May 8 via Fire Talk, pairing wiry guitars with a pointed look at luck, comfort, and access.

With Cost Of Living Adjustment due out this Friday, Cola are closing the album rollout with one more track: Haveluck Country. The Montreal post-punk trio have already set the tone with earlier singles Hedgesitting, Conflagration Mindset, and Skywriter’s Sky, and this latest release lands in a looser, more reflective pocket.

Haveluck Country rides on clipped, staccato guitar lines but moves with an easy bounce, giving Tim Darcy space to lean into the song’s central idea: who gets to live in comfort, and who doesn’t. “In the haveluck country / In the haveluck times,” he sings, before lines like “Oh it’s painfully serene / Crime without a payoff / What if it was all a dream? / Vivid luck” sharpen the track’s calm surface into something more pointed.

The song arrives with a video directed by Camille Anais Semprez and Cedar Teionietathe Jocks, now out alongside the single.

Cost Of Living Adjustment is out May 8 via Fire Talk.
